Scheduled Day: Thursdays at 10:00am
Convenor: Janice Kobold
The art group is primarily comprised of watercolour and acrylic artists, but other members experiment with mixed media or paint on silk. Everyone works independently with opportunity for sharing of techniques and a group critique session for growth. Regular workshops with well-known artists or product demonstrations with visits to galleries and showings are ways we upgrade our skills. Kingcrafts artists' work is exhibited several times a year including the annual Studio sale in November and and the King Studio Tour. |

Scheduled Day: Tuesdays at 10:30am
Convenor: Julie Coleman
Decorative Painting really describes the variety of styles, surfaces and painting techniques used in arts and crafts including techniques such as: Folkart, tole painting, pen and ink, and oil roughing.
While tole painting traditionally refers to work on tin or metal, Folk Art adds color and decoration to household items like utensils and furniture. The term decorative painting refers to painting on almost any surface. Techniques have been passed down from generation to generation but new products allow a greater variety of styles.
Kingcrafts artists create functional and decorative household items, clothing, canvas floorcloths, table settings, vases and glass items. |
| Enamelling |

Scheduled Day: Tuesdays at 10:00am-3:00pm
Convenor: Lois Anderson
With a history dating back over 700 years, this elaborate and complicated art form has inspired metalworkers, jewelry artists and painters all over the world. It is still highly popular and valued today, as it is still created by hand using many of the same traditions and processes passed on for generations.
By definition, enamelling is the ornamentation of a metal object by fusing glass to a copper or silver base using a kiln. The studio group employs different techniques such as: cloisonne, Plique-a-jour - a technique resembling miniature stained glass; champleve and basse taille.
Members handcraft jewellery, pictures, treasure boxes, mobiles, plates, Christmas ornaments, or anything that the artisans are prepared to create. We are fortunate to have a silversmith working with the group. |

The guild places bulk orders for clay, glaze chemicals and other supplies for its members.
Membership is open to anyone with an interest in working with clay. We welcome professional and hobby potters, as well as those who are simply interested in developing an appreciation for the ceramic arts. Our aim is to promote good craftsmanship, to encourage mutual co-operation and to exchange ideas and experiences in tackling pottery problems. |

| Wire Sculpture |
|
|
|
Scheduled Day: Fridays at 10:30am
Convenor: Julie Coleman
Instead of ink and brush stroke, think wire. Instead of drawing with a pen, you draw with the wire itself. As with any art form, you are limited only by your imagination. Design and structure are both significant, but basically there is no right way to create with wire. This innovative group of sculptors meets weekly inventing new forms for indoor and outdoor use as they explore. | |
